Mangaluru: Udupi-Chikkamaglur MP Shobha Karandhlaje hit out at Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader claiming that all the illegal activities were carried out here at his behest.
She was in city for the Bharatiya Janta Party’s membership drive on Saturday, June 29. “Though permission was given for a single slaughterhouse in the Dakshina Kannada district, several of them are operating in the district. If the district in-charge Minister is not supporting such illegal slaughterhouses, how is it possible that they are functioning?”, she questioned.
Pointing at the incident of stabbing an MBA student at Bagambila near Deralakatte, Karandlaje opined that the law and order situation had completely failed in the state. “Those who indulged in illegal activities have no fear of law and police department. State government should concentrate on maintaining law and order in the state,” she said.
Speaking about Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s ‘Grama Vasthavya’ (village stay) programme, Karandaje ridiculed that it was nothing but drama.” It is very sad that people of Karnataka have a chief minister who threatens of lathi charge, when people approach him for a solution to their problem, she lamented.
