Mangaluru: Shakthi Education Trust inaugurated Shakthi Research Forum and Shakthi Advanced Commerce Learning here at Shakthi Residential PU College campus on Saturday, April 3, to nurture the young minds towards scientific temperament and career proficiency.
Prof. Manjunatha Pattabi, dean faculty of science and technology inaugurated the research forum. Rtn. CA. Shantharam Shetty, chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Dakshina Kannada district inaugurated advanced commerce learning.
Dr. Manjunatha Pattabi, Dean Faculty of Science & Technology, Professor and Chairman, Department of Materials Science, Mangalore University inaugurating the Shakthi Research Forum and guiding our students into new avenues said that everyone should have child-like curiosity which leads us to great research. We need to retain this curiosity throughout our life to become great researchers. Knowledge is the only requirement to do research. This will lead one to the desired height. Research satisfies curiosity and intellectual thoughts, whatever the outcome. Research is essential though it may or may not be useful at that point of time. There will come one day where it proves to be beneficial to the society, he observed.
Rtn. PHF. CA. Shantharam Shetty Chartered Accountant &Chairman Indian Red Cross Society, D.K Dist said, ‘A man is not poor without money, he is poor without aim and dream of his own’. He added that career guidance as such is important at the College level or else there are chances of students to have a wrong choice of the profession.
Dr. Dilip. G. Naik the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education presided over the function and opined that “Inspite of having 1000 universities in India our ranking at the global level is alarming, this is because there is no research happening. Critical thinking and experiential learning are not given importance. Students have certain qualities inbuilt in them they just need a little training and a push by us to the right path and the initiative like this is definitely going to help them”.
Dr.K.C.Naik, the Administrator of Shakthi Education Trust, Dr. Muralidhar Naik, Trustee, Chief Advisor Ramesh K, Institute Development Officer Prakyath Rai, Prof. Raja ram Rao, Lecturer in Mathematics, and Neema Saxena coordinator of Shakthi Pre-school were present on this occasion.
Dr. Darshan Raj coordinator for Shakthi research Forum and Shilpa, coordinator Shakthi Advanced Commerce Learning delivered the keynote initially. Vidya Kamath, Principal Shakthi Residential School proposed the welcome address, and Kuldeep Desai student of I PU conveyed a vote of thanks.
