Senior theatre artist IK Boluvaru recieved Ranga Bhaskar award 2021

Hampanakatte: IK Boluvaru, a senior theatre artist opined that “By motivating children to perform plays, we will draw more audiences to the theatre.”

He spoke after receiving the Ranga Bhaskar award 2021, which was given in memory of late theatre director Bhaskar Nellitheertha by Ranga Sangati Samskrutika Pratishthana.

Ranga Sangathi Samskrutika Pratisthana Managaluru and district unit of Department of Kannada and Culture DK jointly organized the 12th anniversary of the pratishthana and Drama festival (Natakotsava).

Bolavaru said “when children engage in theatre events, their parents and peers accompany them to see their performances, ensuring that there is never a lack of audience for plays. He praised the Ranga Sangathi Samskrutika Pratisthana’s efforts to promote children’s plays.

Harikrishna Punaruru, Ex-President of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said that bringing together children of various abilities and interests and preparing them to perform is a challenging job. He praised Ranga Sangati’s efforts in this regard.

Veena Shetty, DGM of MRPL presided over the function. Gopala Krishna Shetty, the president of Ranga Sangathi Samskrutika Pratisthana, Rajesh G, Assistant Director of Department of Kannada and Culture, Shashi Raj Kavoor, Trustee of Ranga Sangati participated in the function.

“Minugele Minugele Nakshtara”, a play by children and “That’s all Your Honour”, a Kannada play was performed.
