Mangaluru: Sandeep Patil, a 2004 IPS batch officer took charge as the new Mangaluru Commissioner of Police on Friday, February 22.
Patil replaced T R Suresh, who was transferred as the Joint Commissioner of Police, City Armed Reserve Police, Bengaluru.
Patil is a law graduate, hails from Bengaluru. Though reporters asked his opinion about Mangaluru and about his plan on controlling law and order situation, he remained tight-lipped saying that he was new to Mangaluru.
However, Patil informed that he would continue the programmes which are taken by the previous commissioner of police T R Suresh. ” More concentration will be given to handling the law and order situation during the upcoming Lok Sabha election. I will also give importance to the safety of women and to control the drug menace”, he informed.
