Mangaluru: Fr Denzil Lobo, Director of AIMIT, has gathered a bunch of well-meaning volunteers to help feed the migrants who are stranded in Mangaluru.
For this purpose, the St. Aloysius College canteen is being used to cook meals, which are then being packaged and distributed to the migrant workers.
“For about 40 rupees including GST we are able to prepare a meal in our canteen with white rice, egg curry with one egg, and channa. Thanks to the contributions from APNA, Yesterday we distributed 1250 meals to migrant workers,” said Fr Denzil Lobo in a statement.
The COVID-19 lockdown in India has stranded thousands of migrant workers in Mangaluru with no income and no means of feeding themselves or their families. While many have been sent back to their respective states, there are still many who are stranded here and in need of food and shelter.
