Mangaluru: “Nowadays, children are losing interest in sports. Technology has restricted children within four walls of the house”, said N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte Deemed University.
He spoke after inaugurating the Rotary 3182 two-day district level sports meet organized by Rotary Club Nitte, recently.
Rotary district governor B N Ramesh, DGN Rtn Jayram Bhat, assistant director of the sports meet Suryakanth shetty, Zone 5 assistant governor Ganesh Acharya, Zone 5 lieutenant Sathish Kumar Kemmannu, and organizational secretary of sports meet Yogish Hegde were present.
President of Rotary Club Nitte Dr Veena Devi Shastrimath welcomed the gathering.
Director of the sports meet P H F Tukaram Shetty presided over the programme.
Organizational president of the sports meet Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar rendered the vote of thanks.

Meanwhile, cricket, badminton, volleyball, chess, carom and 150 other sporting events were organized.
