Mangaluru: Public Relations Council of India Mangalore Chapter, in association with Mangalore University College, organised “Daughters’ Day” on the occasion of the birth anniversary of astronaut Late Kalpana Chawla, at the University College campus in Shivaram Karanth Bhavana here on July 5.
Principal of Mangalore University College, Mangaluru, Prof. Uday Kumar was the president of the function.
Addressing the gathering he said, “Always be enthusiastic to learn new things. Student life is the best time and what you learn in this period will influence your life. Committing mistakes and learning from them is better than repeating them.” He also appreciated the PRCI’s efforts to educate students about menstrual hygiene.
Prof. Dr. Gayathri B J of Shri Devi College of Technology, Mangaluru and Mrs Popular- Mrs India Worldwide 2017, celebrity anchor and entrepreneur Soujanya Hegde were guests of honour on the occasion.
Dr Gayathri spoke on the topic “Get ready for 2020” informed the gathering that they need to be prepared for the year 2020 as there will be new challenges for the children to face. Soujanya Hegde spoke on menstrual hygiene.
