Police shuts stores unaware of guidelines

Mangaluru: Fruit vendors, pushcart vendors, and grocery stores in Mangaluru City limits were seen getting forced to close their shops at 10:00 a.m. by police officials. Despite the fact that the state government extended the hours of operation for grocery stores and pushcart vendors in an order released late Saturday night, this is still the case.

The state government released an order on Saturday allowing grocery stores to stay open until 12 p.m., as opposed to the previous rule of 10 a.m., during the COVID curfew in the state.

Police officers in the city limits were seen telling shop owners to shut their doors at 10 a.m., despite the state government’s recent orders.
