Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police seized over 50 vehicles belonging to violators of the lockdown under the Mangaluru Commissionarate limits on Monday, March 30.
In order to stop the spread of COVID-19, the district administration of Dakshina Kannada had extended the complete lockdown on Monday as well. However, many people were found roaming on the streets in their vehicles, ignoring the direction of the district administration. Though many people tried to convince the police that they came out to buy medicines, police seized their vehicles after their reasons were found out to be false.
Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha appealed to the people to obey the district administration’s lockdown directions.
Taking to Twitter, the compol warned, “Stay home or face legal action.”
