Neglecting locals in MRPL recruitment; Bawa warns of protest-1

Mangaluru: Former MLA Mohideen Bawa has alleged that MRPL is recruiting North Indian origin employees and sidelinng locals. In a press release issued here on Saturday May 22, he said that the locals gave land for construction of MRPL. Despite the district having hundreds of youths with qualifications, the MRPL authorities are overlooking them by employing North Indians.

He said that even though the Dr Sarojini Mahishi report instructed to recruit locals in appointments, the management did not follow it. He expressed his dismay that the 7 MLAs and one MP from Dakshina Kannada district from ruling party did not question MRPL regarding this. Bawa said that he would bring a stay order from court against these appointment through legal agitation.

He said that during construction of MRPL, the government promised to provide priority to local youths in appointments. But they appointed just 13 candidates from district out of the 184 newly recruited employees. He warned of severe agitation if the MRPL authorities does not cancel the recruitment of outsiders.

He urged the district administration to take action against MRPL for letting industrial effluents in to paddy fields by violating norms.  He also said that people are waiting in long queues in front of fair price shop in Kuloor by violating social distance. This caused technical snag of server. He urged district administration to set it right soon.
