Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel met the Bishop of Mangaluru Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha and Msgr Maxim Noronha of Mangaluru Diocese on Tuesday, March 26 and sought their blessings for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Nalin informed them about the various development works undertaken by the Narendra Modi-led union government in order to uplift the minority community in the country.
Meanwhile, the Bishop wished for the success of Nalin and asked him to do something at the government level in order to help the economically poor in Africa. He said that some people in North Africa were struggling to receive even a piece of bread. “Most of them are illiterates and they are suffering from various health issues. Hence, our country should go forward to help them on humanitarian grounds. It is better to adopt some of the villages of Africa in order to provide a ray of hope in their life”, he expressed.
Nalin after interacting with Bishop, informed the media that it was a blissful moment for him. “Bishop Peter Paul is known for his humanity and social harmony. He has given some tips on the development and bringing in harmony in the society,” he said.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, BJP Minority Cell, Mangaluru Central president Gladwin D’Silva among others were present.
