Mangaluru: State Minister for Urban Development and Housing and Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader alleged that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel blaming Veerappa Moily for the merger of Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda was only for gaining political mileage and there was no truth in it.
Addressing the reporters at Circuit House on Wednesday, January 16 he said, though Veerappa Moily is the president of the Finance Committee, the proposal of merging Vijaya Bank with other bank did not come to his notice. “There is no such procedure of consent by the finance committee as claimed by Nalin Kumar Kateel for the merger of banks,” he added.
“I have already communicated with Moily in this regard and he has expressed his ignorance regarding receiving any proposal on merging of banks by the Finance Committee. Moily also informed that he would write a letter to Nalin Kumar Kateel for misguiding the people on this issue”, Khader added.
