Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Jesuit Educational Society (MJES) felicitated seven retired employees of the St Aloysius Institutions on Monday March 18th. These employees had dedicated most of their lives to the Insitutions in various capacities. The felicitated employees included Blanch Vida Dalmaida, Lucia Joyce D’Silva, B Rajgopal Bhat, Valerian Nazareth, Precilla D’Silva, Charles Lobo and Grace Noronha. Among the retired employees, Charles Lobo had served over 40 years, Lucia Joyce had served around 38 years. Rajgopal Bhat had retired after serving 27 years of long service and Blanch Vida Dalmaida retired after contributing 21 years of her life in service of the teaching profession.
The family member was honoured with a plant sapling. Ms Blanch Dalmaida was honoured along with her husband Valerian Dalmaida; Ms Lucia D’Silva was accompanied by her son Anand Noronha, Rajgopal Bhat was accompanied by his wife Roopa Bhat, Valerian Nazereth was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Severine Nazereth, Precilla D’Silva was honoured along with her husband Valentine D’Silva, Charles Lobo was accompanied by his wife Philomena Menezes, Grace Noronha was accompanied by her son, Anthonio Noronha. The retired employees were honoured with a shawl, citation, memento, garland and fruit basket.
After being felicitated by the guests, all the retired employees thanked the institution and the entire staff for extending their cooperation to them during their tenure at the St. Aloysius Institutions. All of them were unanimously of the opinion that it had been an amazing experience.
Retired employees are ‘Saptaswaras’ of St Aloysius Institution – Rector
Rector of St. Aloysius institutions Rev.Fr. Dionysius Vaz, after felicitating the seven retired employees, termed them as the ‘Saptaswaras’ of St Aloysius Institutions. ” All the retired employees not only served in the institution with utmost dedication, but they treated the institution as their own. it is their selfless service that has helped the institution to attain great heights”, he added.
St Aloysius College Principal Fr. Dr. Praveen Martis welcomed the gathering. St Aloysius Gongaza School Manager Rev Fr Melwin Mendonca, St Aloysius High School Headmaster Rev Fr Gerald Furtado, Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society’s Rev. Fr Denzil W. Lobo, and others were present.
