Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the new office of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy, located near Taluk Panchayat building, on Monday, June 15.
After the inauguration Minister Kota said, “There is a demand for having own site and own building for Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy. I will strive hard to fulfill this demand.”
Academy president Rahim Uchil presiding over the programme said, “though a land had been identified for the construction of Beary Sahitya Academy at Neermarga, it was rejected later for various reasons. The state government has sanctioned Rs 6 crore for the construction of Beary Bhavan, in which Rs 3 crore has been released now. Soon after we find new land, measures will be taken to construct Beary Bhavan and Academy office,” he said.
Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat president Mohammed Monu, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Sadanand, Tulu Academy president Dayanand Kattalsar and others were present.
