Mangaluru: “The master plan of the minor irrigation department will be brought to the notice of the concerned MLA,” said minister of minor irrigation and Tumkur district in-charge minister J C Madhuswamy.
Presiding over the progress review meeting held in circuit house Mangaluru he said,” Various projects undertaken by the Department of Small Irrigation in Dakshina Kannada district are being completed on a priority basis.”
He said the tenders called for the implementation of various projects under the department should be approved soon.
“The concerned authorities must ensure the projects to be implemented without delay,” he added.
Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLA Umanath Kotian, Vedavyas Kamath, Rajesh Nayak, U T Khader, Sanjiva Matandoor, Bharath Shetty, department secretaries Mrathyunjaya Swamy, department Mysuru circle’s S C Rajashekar Yadalli, minor irrigation department engineer in the district, Gokuldas, assistant executive engineer Vishnu Kamath, staff Shiva Prasanna, Rakesh, Anand, Lavish and others were present.
Minor irrigation minister JC Madhuswamy also visited Bantwal on Saturday and held discussions with MLA Rajesh Naik over possibilities of constructing a bridge cum barrage for the Netravati river from Jakribettu to Narikombu.
The construction will provide an alternative road from Bantwal highway to Puttur.
Similarly, the minister visited Belthangady to review the various phases of construction works.
He reviewed the construction work at Harpala bridge and Kindi dam with MLA Harish Pooja and Puttur MLA Sanjeev Mathandoor.
