Mangaluru: Minister For Tourism, Kannada and Culture CT Ravi has said that the time has come to take necessary decision with regard to the inclusion of Tulu language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.

In a Tweet on Monday, the Minister said that Tulunadu is distinct because of its belief system and culture.

“Kambala, Daivaradhane, Nagaradhane and Aliyasanthana practices make Tulunadu very different. The local Tuluvas may have gone to faraway places in search of greener pastures, but they have remained connected to their culture and soil. It is the duty of the Karnataka government to support the struggle of the Tuluvas, who have been making all possible efforts to include their language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution,” said CT Ravi in the tweet.

The Tweet has garnered several comments supporting the point of view of the Minister.

While many said that Tulu must be added to the 8th Schedule and it must also be declared as the State language of Karnataka, many stated that even Kodava language too must be added to the 8th Schedule and the state government must take necessary steps in this direction as well.
