Mangaluru: The Central Government’s ambitious Skill India (job skills training) programme will be launched by BJP state president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel at the Town Hall, Mangaluru on Monday, September 16 at 10.30 am.
The Mangaluru Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering (MIFSE) will also launch several Skill India courses at the event. The MIFSE has been at the forefront of teaching fire and safety skills for the past 13 years and the Central Government has permitted the Institute to initiate courses under the Skill India Job Training Programme.
MIFSE President Vinod John said, “The organisation’s branches in Udupi, Shivamogga, Bengaluru, Davangere, Belagavi, Hospet, Tumkuru and Mumbai will commence courses under the Skill India scheme.”
Mangaluru University Vice-Chancellor Dr Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya., MLAs U T Khader and Vedvyas Kamath, Nehru Youth Centre President Raghuveer S, and former Counselor Dr Jagadish will be present at the event.
Information regarding nearly 4,000 skill-based courses will be provided at the event and job opportunities will be available for candidates who are trained in the relevant field.
