Mangaluru: “The Mangaluru City Corporation’s proceedings will begin at the earliest,” said Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

Addressing the media recently he said, “The MCC proceedings were delayed because of the recent Assembly by-polls in the state. But I’m shocked to hear the Congress leaders blaming the BJP for the delay in the starting of the MCC proceedings. My question to them is who delayed the mayoral and deputy mayoral elections for the MCC? Have they forgotten this?”

“It was the failure of the Congress party, who could not manage to bring in revenue to the MCC and strengthen the treasury. They should accept this fact. It has failed to maintain the records pertaining to revenue collection and now it is blaming us. Kindly don’t indulge in such petty politics,” he added.

Further criticizing the previous Congress administration in the MCC, Kamath said, “The Congress leaders have said that the MCC, which was in the top 6-7 in the list of best city corporations, has now fallen to the 152nd spot. By this, they placed their track record before the people. The Congress is solely responsible for the drastic drop in rankings. We will prove ourselves and produce our track record in the coming days.”
