Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hedge has released a poster on the Government of India’s (GOIs) public perception survey on the ease of living, and urged the public to participate in the survey in large numbers.

After releasing the poster on Friday, February 14, Hegde said that in order to assess the feedback from the citizens, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has asked the public to participate in the survey and answer around 22 questions on ease of living in their cities. “We are not asking the people to give only positive answers. They can also give negative answers to questions on the facilities provided to them. This will help both the Central and state governments implement their projects properly,” he said.

The Citizens’ Perception Survey “Ease of Living Index – 2019” is being undertaken through with the link http://eol2019.org/CitizenFeedback. Some of the queries are to what extent do you agree/disagree that good quality education for children is affordable in your city? to what extent do you agree that rental/housing is affordable in your city? how satisfied are you with the extent of green cover in your city? etc.

Managing Director of Mangaluru Smart City Pvt Ltd Mohammed Nazeer said that the people can also send their opinions through @SmartCitiesMission (Facebook) and @easeofliving2019.

“The Government will be open to receiving opinions from the public from February 1 to 29 and it will help smart city Mangaluru to obtain more benefits from the public. A total of 2,200 people have already participated in the survey and we are expecting the number to cross 10,000 at the least,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nazeer informed that four of the total 47 projects under the smart city project have been completed so far. “The tendering process for 11 projects is yet to be complete and works has already begun for the remaining projects,” he said.
