Mangaluru: In order to contain the spread of the Covid – 19, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has requested the Flat Owners’ Associations and Apartment residents to increase Covid Testing in all potential contacts and cases. At present, under the MCC’s jurisdiction, the Covid case positivity rate is around 17%.

“To decrease the spread of Covid cases significantly, it is imperative that Covid testing must be increased. Therefore, it becomes important to subject all primary contacts to Covid testing,” states MCC Commissioner in a statement released on Thursday June 10.

“Against this backdrop, hereafter, if any Covid positive case is identified in a residential apartment under MCC’s jurisdiction, all the members of that apartment will be categorised as primary contacts and will have to undergo the Covid – 19 test to rule out any further possible spread,” the release instructed.

“Therefore, in this matter we request the complete cooperation from the Flat Owners’ Association and residents of such apartments with MCC and Health department in the best interests of the society,” the statement added.
