Mangaluru: Albert Fernandes, a resident of Bajpe, who was accused of making blasphemous statements against Kateel diety Shri Durgaparameshwari visited the temple and asked for his forgiveness in front of the deity.
Once he sought forgiveness at the temple, the accused and the other complainants reached Bajpe police station and the case was settled through compromise. The activists from Hindu organisations and few local BJP leaders were also present.
Fernandes is originally from Bajpe and was working in Mumbai. It can be recollected here that his statements against deity had hurt Hindu sentiments, following which a complaint was registered at the Bajpe police station.
