Man from Puttur tests positive for COVID-19; DK district’s total rises to nine

Mangaluru: A 49-year-old man from the Aryapu village of the Puttur taluk tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the Dakshina Kannada district’s total to nine.

According to the health department, the man arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) from Dubai on March 20. He later went to Puttur in a taxi. As he had throat pain, he was admitted to the Puttur Government Hospital on March 28. His throat swabs were sent for testing and his reports came back today.

Those who had contact with the person should approach the health department and undergo quarantine, the district administration informed.
