LS Polls: SDPI state president Ilyas Mohammed Thumbay to contest from Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has selected its state president Ilyas Mohammed Thumbay as the candidate for Mangaluru Lok Sabha constituency for the LS polls.

Prior to announcing its candidate, SDPI has organised at a huge conference at Nehru Maidan on Sunday, March 17. SDPI national general secretary Abdul Majeed, Mysuru announced the name of Ilyas Mohammed Thumbay as the candidate and informed that the SDPI will field its candidates in five Lok Sabha constituencies including Bidar, Mysuru- Kodagu and Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Abdul Majeed informed that the intention of the SDPI is to keep away communal parties from assuming power. “We don’t see any differences between communal party BJP and other parties like the Congress and the JDS. All parties are communal and selfish when they assume power”, he said.

SDPI district unit president Athaullah presided over the programme. SDPI national general secretary Abdul Majeed Koodlipete, secretary Alfonso Franco, state vice president Putnanjaiah, DK district general secretary Shahul Hameed Popular Front of India (PFI) state president Mohammed Shakib among others were present.
