Locals rush to collect diesel after tanker topples in Uppinangady

Uppinagady: A diesel-laden tanker toppled at Nekkiladi Bolluru, causing traffic jams on the Managluru-Bengaluru Highway on Saturday, March 13.
 
When a tanker fell sideways on a highway people rushed to the site of the accident and began filling the diesel in cans.
Local police visited the spot and filed the case. Uppinangady Traffic Police officials told that the accident led to a chaotic situation as people began filling diesel in cans and buckets. “The tanker had upturned around 2.30, by the time we reached there, the road was blocked and all the people had already filled their cans and left,” said a traffic police official.
 
Tanker driver Mahesh suffered minor injuries in the accident. The traffic has resorted and normalcy returned to the highway.
