Mangaluru: A protest against the newly-implemented CAA, NRC, and NPR will be held in the Tipu Sultan Garden near Kudroli on Tuesday, February 25 at 2 pm. The Muslim Aiykata Vedike (Kudroli) has called for the protest and has adopted the slogan ‘Kudroli Chalo’ as part of the event.

Informing about the event at a press conference held on Friday, February 21, the organisers said that people of all religions, castes, and creed are invited to the protest. “Since Indians fought to liberate this country from the British, there is no need for any citizen (including Muslims) to show evidence of their nationality. The Centre’s policies are against the Indian Constitution and against Indians. That is why we have to send a message to the Centre by peacefully protesting against the CAA, NRC, and NPR,” the organisers said in a press release.

It also said that the protest is being held to remember Abdul Jaleel and Nausheen, the two victims who lost their lives in the Mangaluru police firing incident which occurred on December 19, 2019.

Muslim Central Committee President K Ashraf, Congress MLA UT Khader, KS Mohammad Masood, Urilinga Peddi Mutt Seer Jnanaprakash Swamiji, and others are expected to be present at the protest.
