Mangaluru: Kavoor police arrested a 26-year-old youth from Badami in the Bagalkot district, who allegedly abducted a minor girl on Saturday, February 22.
The arrested accused has been identified as Parashurama. According to police sources, Parashuram befriended the 16-year-old girl from Kunjathbail and took her away on Valentine’s day (February 14).
The incident came to light when the girl’s family began looking for her when did not return home. Worried, they lodged a complaint at the Kavoor police station against Parashuram.
Based on the complaint, the Kavoor police went to Badami and traced both Parashuram and the missing girl. Parashuram is now in judicial custody.
It is learnt that the families of both Parashuram and the girl came from the Bagalkot district in search of jobs and are daily wagers.
