Mangaluru: Kambala jockey Srinivas Gowda, who has been compared to Usain Bolt for his record running speed in the traditional buffalo race has left to Bengaluru on February 17 to meet Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
According to sources, Gowda was accompanied by around 16 people including Kambala Academy and founder secretary of Dakshina Kannada Kambala committee K Gunapala Kadamba. He is likely to meet Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa at around 3.30 pm on Monday.
It is said that district administration itself has made all arrangements for Srinivas Gowda to meet the chief minister. However, some members of Kambala Academy made arrangements of their own to take him to the chief minister.
District information officer Khader Shah told newskarnataka.com that the officials in information department in Bengaluru would also assist Srinivas Gowda to meet CM Yediyurappa and future course of action like will be decided after this formal meeting with CM. Meanwhile, as per media reports, Srinivas Gowda gas refused to take up the Sports Authority of India trial to assess his speed in the sport. He has reportedly said that he wants to focus on his sport and not on any other event.
