Mangaluru: As the final rites of eminent saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath will be held with government honours on Monday, October 14, MP and state BJP president has asked the officials to take all appropriate measures to ensure that there are no interruptions in the programme.
Nalin visited the Mini Town Hall, where the Gopalnath’s body will be laid for public viewing on Monday between 10 am and 2 pm. Before this, the funeral procession will be taken from his house in Padavinangady, Devikatte to the Mini Town Hall.
Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hegde informed that a musical programme ‘Swaranjali’ will be held at the Mini Town Hall by Gopalnath’s students as a homage to their teacher. Meanwhile, arrangements will be made to provide drinking water to those who participate in the funeral procession, he said.
Gopalnath’s final rites will be held at his birthplace in Sajipa of the Bantwal Taluk, in the evening.
