Mangaluru: Journalists being an important part of democracy, if work as voice of the society it will aid the administrative units to supplement to their voice, said Rishikesh Sonawane, Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada.
After inaugrating the Press Day and Brand Mangaluru Award ceremony organised by Press Hall Trust and DK Working Journalists’ Union, Mangaluru, he said, “based on the development of the society, cultivating optimistic ways in reacting to issues plays an important role and so Journalists should play a significant role in this matter.”
Dr. Sandeep Wagle, senior reporter at Kannada Prabha was awarded with Brand Mangaluru award of the year.
In these two years due to Corona, the field of journalism has seen a transition which we expected to see in last 10 years, said senior journalist Girish Rao Hatwar. Talking on the subject, the journalists of future, he said, “most of the newspapers have stopped publications due to Covid and have taken a new form through Online/E – papers.”
Department of Information and Public Relations Assistant Director Raviraj H. G. was the chief guest at the event.
