In Bengaluru, Sapthagiri Medical College, East Point Academy, BGS Medical College, and Aakash Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre were raided.
A similar raid was conducted by the IT department in October 2019 with reports emerging that seats were sold for black money through societies and trusts.
Each seat was sold at an approximate price between Rs 80 lakh and 1.5 crores with a variance of status and location. Official added that they had received specific information that colleges were colluding with certain students to block the seats for top rank holders. After these seats were left vacant, they were sold to prospective students.
