Mangaluru: A collision between a container lorry and private bus at Mannagundi near Nellyadi on the Bangalore-Mangalore National Highway has left both vehicles on fire. The incident occurred Wednesday, March 24 late night. The lorry driver was unable to get out of the truck and succumbed at the spot.
The accident occurred when a private bus heading towards Bengaluru and a container heading from Bengaluru to Mangaluru collided. Passengers on the bus have escaped unscathed. The fire was so severe that both vehicles burned down.
The fire brigade and police visited and doused the fire. The incident occurred under the Uppinangady police station limits.
