Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Thursday, April 1 demanded the police department to hold a detailed and a high-level inquiry into the incident where two accused confessed of dropping the objectionable items in the offering box at Koteda Babbuswamy Daivasthana in Yemmekere and surrendered to the police.

Speaking to the press at the VHP office here, Sharan Pumpwell, the divisional secretary stated that such incidents have been reported across 20-25 religious centres in the city. “There is a conspiracy behind this act and police should crack the network,” Sharan said.

He said that the confession by the accused to the crime is a victory for the mass ‘Padayatra’ organised from Kadri Temple to Koragajja Kshetra in Kuthar by several devotes seeking justice.

He said that the accused as in police custody and as per the law of land, necessary action should be carried out against them.

District secretary, Shivanand Mendon and others were present.
