Heavy Rain Results In Increased Water Levels In Rivers

Belthangady: Taluk’s Mundaje, Kalmanja, Kanyadi-1, Malavanthi, Mittabagilu, Neriya, Charmadi, Ujire and other areas witnessed torrential downpour with thunderstorms. The rivers Netravathi and Mrityunjaya have experienced a drastic increase in the flow of water due to heavy rains. The water level noted on Saturday May 22, was twice than that of  last week.

Repairs needed once again at Kindi dams

Owing to the recent increase in river water currents, waste has accumulated in the dams. Beneficiaries and contractors worked together to clean up some of these dams. Large amounts of wood waste have accumulated once again, necessitating removal and disposal.

 Issues with board clearance persist

Due to the increased water levels in the rivers, the task of dredging the Mrityunjaya river and the Anangali Kindi dam remains unfinished, making the cleaning of waste accumulation in and around the dam difficult. In addition, there is a problem with sludge clearance in areas where water and pallets are unloaded.
