Mangaluru: Amid the Covid pandemic, the Hangyo administrative body has decided to provide extra milk to the consumers. Beginning June 3, Hangyo started to provide 25ml extra milk with half litre pack and 50 ml extra with the 1 litre milk pack absolutely free of cost in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada district.
“There has been a decrease in sales of milk since the establishments like hotels have closed down due to the pandemic. This led to a price drop of almost 30% and hence we wanted to give this benefit to our consumers,” said Deepa Pai, Vice-president of Hangyo.
She further said that this will help the farmers since they will continue to buy the excess milk from them.
