There is a need to create awareness among the public by organising these type of jackfruit fest, which enables the public to know the importance of jackfruit. According to the statistics over 2,000 crore jackfruits are being wasted in India owing to lack of knowledge. However, some countries like Malaysia, Philippines among others are producing value-added products and exporting it too,” he said.
