Mangaluru: The three-day-long golden jubilee celebration of the Shri Krishna Janma Mahotsava Samiti, Kadri will be held at Rajangana in Kadri Manjunantheshwara temple from August 22 onwards.
For this purpose, the committee has organised several religious and cultural programmes. Committee vice president Sudhakar Rao Pejavara told reporters here on Monday, August 19, that the cultural programmes will be held in three different venues- Kadri Rajangana, Kadri Mallikatta Ground and Nandagokula Vedike of the Kadri temple.
During the inaugural of the golden jubilee celebrations, a Yakshagana puppet show ‘Narakasura Vadhe – Garuda Garvabhanga’, under the direction of Uppinakudru Bhaskar Kogga Kamath, will be staged on the first day, August 22. On the second day, a musical programme ‘Sangeetha Gana Vaibhava’ will be conducted by a team from Puttur headed by Jagadish Achar at the Kadri Mallikatta Ground. This will be followed by the Harikatha programme ‘Krishna Garudi’ by Sheela Naidu
On the final day, August 24, another cultural programme ‘Tulunada Sathyolu’ will be staged by Kalakumbha Samskrutika Vedike Kulai, Suratkal at ‘Nandagokula Vedike’. Later, a Yakshagana programme ‘Rukmini Swayamvara’ will be staged by Havyasi Balaga Kadri, under the direction of Sharath Kumar Kadri
The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations will be held at Nanda Gokula Vedike on August 24 at around 6 PM.
Committee president Dinesh Devadiga Kadri, vice president Kiran Kumar Jogi and treasurer Keshavanath Kadri were present.
