Fuel godown at Hoigebazar raided and sealed

Mangalore : A godown at Hoigebazar in Mangalore was raided by the officials of  Department of Food and Civil Supplies today and 1855 liters of kerosene seized

, in the wake of complaints that kerosene oil and diesel were stocked illegally there. 

 

 

Damodar Karkera is said to be the owner a told by the sources and he has absconded . 

From the sources it is been learnt that the stock of kerosene was illegally stored so as to sell it to the boat owners during the momsoon. Almost 36 barrels, including few empty ones were seized from the site. Approximately 90 liters of mixed diesel fuel were also found there.

Deputy director Mr.Sharana Basappa and Assistant director Mr.Suresh Kumar of Food and Civil supplies,along with the Pandeshwar SI Sidappa and staff conducted the raid

Case has been registered at Pandeshwar police , but no arrest has been made so far.It may be recalled that the officials had seized illegally stocked fuel from the same place a year back.
