Kasargod :Four persons connected with the sand mafia and who tried to kill ASP and other policemen with their tipper truck when they tried to stop them from carrying sand illegally have been arrested.
Abdul Azeez (22),Aboobacker Siddique alias Kichamani Siddique (18) and Vijay Crasta (21)residents of Seethangoli Mukharikanda, Angadimogaru resident Farzil Ahmed (23) were arrested by the police on July 2.
On Sunday June 29, ignoring the police plea to stop their vehicle, the accused had tried to kill police personnel with their truck. They had also tried to unload the sand on police jeep when the ASP and others tried to chase them.
It is said that they escaped from the spot when police fired on them. Later on the tipper and car were seized by the police.
