Mangaluru: The Departments of Orthopaedics and Anatomy at Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) organised a cadaveric workshop on “Lower Limb Flaps” at the campus’s AV Hall on Saturday, December 7.
After inaugurating the workshop, Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) Director Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho said,” A comprehensive study is required in order to conduct limb surgery despite the fact that we utilise the benefit of technological advancement. In order to achieve more success in our work, there is a need to receive the instruction and able guidance of some experts. The programmes like Continuing Medical Education (CME) helps budding doctors to receive additional knowledge.”
Lauding the two different departments for their collaboration in organising such a workshop, Richard said that it was a good sign. “Inter-departmental activities helps to analyse the things thoroughly. It is a good sign that several inter-departmental activities are taking place in FMCI these days. One person cannot do anything without the cooperation of others. Likewise, inter-departmental activities help to achieve the desired goal,” he added.
After the inauguration, various sessions were conducted in which different resource persons like Dr Jagannath Kamath, Dr Ashwath Acharya, and Dr Darshan Jain spoke on many relevant topics.
Earlier, Organising Chairman Dr Latheesh Leo welcomed the gathering and Department of Orthopaedics HOD Dr Ronald Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.
FMCI administrators Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa and Fr Ajith B Menezes, FMMC Assistant Administrator Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, and Department of Anatomy HOD Dr Prakash Shetty were present among others.
