Mangaluru: Condemning the abusive audio file “Encounter Janardhan Poojary”, former Congress MLA J R Lobo submitted a letter to the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner T N Suresh here on Thursday, December 6, requesting stringent action against the one who had spoken ill about veteran party leader Janardhan Poojary.

The contents of the letter say that the person involved in creating an audio file which contain provocative statements against the construction of Ram Mandir and accusing Janardhan Poojary of supporting the ideologies of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, had damaged the communal harmony in the district.

The letter also goes on to say, “Every section of the society is angry and intolerant to such statements. The people have demanded the arrest of the person and legal action against him. ” It also warns of a violent protest in the district in case of inaction.

It has requested the district police department to begin search operation and arrest the culprit as soon as possible.

The letter stated, “It may be recalled that 15 days before the ‘encounter’ audio file went viral, there was another audio file which spread a fake information that Janardhan Poojary’s health was seriously deteriorating. Even though Poojary was ill, he was not so sick as mentioned in the clip. I request the police to take legal actions on such culprits, on behalf of all the Congress party workers.”
