Mangaluru: Dr KV Rajendra took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshia Kannada district, on Thursday, July 30.
Outgoing DC Sindhu B Roopesh handed over a bouquet and welcomed Dr Rajendra, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
While Sindhu served as the second woman DC of the district, she was transferred even before she could complete one year term in the district.
Her transfer has sparked debate stating that her stern stand against the vigilante groups attacking the cattle transporters led to the government action.
She has been transfered to the post of Director, Electronic Delivery of Citizens’ Services, DA&AR, Bengaluru.
Dr Rajendra is the 130th DC of the district. Additional DC Roopa and others officers were present.
