Mangaluru: The newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government has issued a notification on Thursday, August 1, transferring city Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) and Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru City with immediate effect. He has been posted as the new DIG and Joint Commissioner of Police, Crimes, Bengaluru City, in place of Dr B R Ravikanthe Gowda.
Dr A Subramanyeswara Rao, DIGP, Bengaluru will be the new DIGP and Commissioner of Police of the city.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Mangaluru City, Hanumantharaya has been transferred with immediate effect as Superintendent of Police, Davangere District in place of R Chethan.
Several other IPS officers have also been transferred with immediate effect as mentioned in the government notification.
Transfers in Shivamogga
District Superintendent of Police Dr M Ashwini has also been transferred and K M Shantharaju will assume charge as the new SP.
Dr Ashwini won the hearts of the people due to her fearless style of working. She is often referred to as ‘Lady Singham’.
K M Shantharaju was working as the Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence Department in Bengaluru.
