Mangaluru: As the number of COVID-19 cases has been increasing in Kerala, the Dakshina Kannada district health and family welfare department has asked private hospitals not to admit any patients that come from the neighbour state.
Dakshina Kannada district health and family welfare officer Ramachandra Bayari, on Thursday, instructed the management of private hospitals not admit any patients from Kasargod or anywhere else in Kerala.
As many as 21 entry points between the Dakshina Kannada district and Kerala have been blocked. Due to this, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote a letter to the Central Government, asking them to clear the roads to allow essential commodities and emergency medical cases to pass through.
However, no measures were taken by the district administration in this regard and district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary also stressed that the border will not be opened at any cost.
Yesterday, the Kerala High Court had even directed the Central Government to clear the blockade.
Now, the health department has asked the private hospitals not to give admission to any patients from Kerala.
