Digital smart class app ‘Vidya Mithra’ launched for govt high school students

Mangaluru: Digital smart class app “Vidya Mithra”, which aims to help 15 government high schools coming under Mangaluru North Assembly constituency, was launched at the MCC Auditorium on Saturday, May 23.

This digital app is designed with the help of MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty in association with Rotary Club (Bengaluru West). The app was launched by BJP national organising secretary B L Santhosh via video conference during a small programme.

After launching the app B L Santhosh said, “This is an attempt by MLA Dr Bharath Shetty to boost the quality of education. As private educational institutions using activities to attract the students in large numbers, it is everyone’s duty to attract students to government schools also.”

He also clarified that this app cannot be an alternative to the existing education system. It can be used as a tool to guide the students, he added.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, who was also present, said, “The state has over 48,000 government schools wherein over a crore students have been getting education. MLA Dr Bharath Shetty’s move towards boosting the quality of education is an ideal for all.”

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, who presided over the programme, handed over the digital smart class equipment to the officials.

Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar, Deputy Mayor Vedavathi, ZP member Janardhan among others were present.
