Mangaluru: D.Vedyavas Kamath, MLA of Mangaluru South constituency said that Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa’s budget for the year 2021-22 is a development-oriented budget, has been announced as a major grant for many development projects and tourism projects for the coastal areas in the state.
He said “A sum of Rs 25 crore for comprehensive research on the yellow disease, Rs 66 crore for Gurupur Plastic Park, and Rs 6 crore for the opening of Advanced Biotech Discovery Center announced in the budget.”
“Emphasizing the development of coastal tourism, the chief minister has proposed measures to promote tourism activities in the backwaters of the Netravati and Gurupur rivers. Steps have been taken to develop waterways between Mangaluru and Panaji.” He informed
In addition to this, the Chief Minister has announced the completion of the ‘Gramabandha Bridge’ project in Mangaluru, which will be completed soon by this year. The Budget has announced the issuance of Diesel at the Diesel Delivery Point, he added.
The Chief Minister, as well as the Finance Minister, will be congratulated for their contribution to the coast, the MLA said in a statement.
