Mangaluru: “Officials must ensure the effective enforcement of weekend curfew,” said deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V here on Friday June 25.
He was speaking in a meeting attended by taluk panchayat executive officers, tahsildars and taluk health officers said, “The district will be under lockdown from 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25 to 7 a.m. on Monday, June 28. The functioning of milk shops, hospitals, and a few government offices is permitted. During the weekend, no other activities are permitted. As the government offices will be closed on the specified dates, so there will be no need for individuals to go around.”
“Construction activities and factories can function. Hotels can only provide takeaway service. Weddings that are already scheduled can be held in their respective residences with a maximum of 25 people,” the DC added.
“There are rumors that the third wave will affect children. Therefore, parents should take extra care. Shopkeepers should make sure that children are not found in the shops. In case of violation, the owners will face a fine,” DC warned.
“Sub-divisional officers and local authority officials should monitor corona management. Tahsildars and taluk panchayat executives should hold meetings with their staff concerning virus control and obtain necessary details,” he said.
District panchayat chief executive officer, Dr Kumar, DSP Hrishikesh Sonawane, additional DC Dr Prajna Ammembala, sub-divisional officer, Madan Mohan, health and family welfare officer, Dr Kishore and other officers were present.
