Damages reported due to heavy rain in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru: Thunderstorm accompanied with heavy rain-lashed Mangaluru late night on Monday, April 12.

Due to strong wind and rain, the compound wall of an apartment at Kodikal collapsed. The crashed compound wall damaged the houses of Nadiguthu compound at the fourth B cross, Kodikal belonging to Mohandas Bangera, Poornima, and Devadas Bangera.

Severe damages were reported due to rains in Bantwal as well. Heavy rains are being reported from the past two nights and early morning on Tuesday in Dakshina Kannada districts yellow alert too has been issued by IMD.

A house belonging to Geeta of Bantwal taluk has been damaged. Geeta and her daughter Rashmita have been injured and now hospitalised. Many household equipment were damaged.

The Coastal district of DK is expected to receive rain for the next five days, further informs the meteorological department.
