Mangaluru: In a major spike ever witnessed by the district, Dakshina Kannada registered 97 new Corona positive cases in a single day, on Sunday, June 28, taking the total tally to 673.
Among the 97 persons who have been tested positive for the disease today, 32 persons had come from abroad , 21 cases are related to Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and five cases are pertaining to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).
A total of 10 persons were infected through primary contacts of Covid-19 patients and remaining 28 persons have neither got any travel history nor they have contacts of Covid-19 patients.
Meanwhile, a total of six persons have been discharged from Wenlock hospital after recovering from the disease today.
With this, the total number of discharged patients after recovering from the disease reached 422 in DK district.
