Daily wager allegedly kills wife suspecting infidelity

Mangaluru: A woman, aged about 38 was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, at Konchady, on the wee hours of Saturday, April 20.

The deceased has been identified as Manjula (38), a resident of Bagalkot district. Sharanappa, 48, her husband is accused of killing her.

Sources in Kavoor police station informed that victim Manjula was working in a hotel located in Kuntikana and her husband is a daily wager. They were living in a rented house, located at Konchady, Borugudda. It is said that Sharanappa was suspicious that Manjula is having an affair and this used to spark off fights between the couple very frequently.

It is said that the two had a fight over the same issue even at the wee hours of Saturday and locals say that in a fit of rage Sharanappa must have stabbed her. The couple have four daughters, but none were at home at the time of the fateful incident.

Kavoor police rushed to the spot and detained Sharanappa for questioning. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is on.
