Mangaluru: Senior CPIM Leader B Madhava passed away on Tuesday, June 18, after prolonged illness.
Madhava identified himself in the forefront of the left movement in the state and served in various capacity for the party. He held various positions in the party at the state as well as the district level. He contested the assembly poll as the party candidate from Mangaluru once and had tasted defeat.
Despite being an employee of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), he worked relentlessly for the cause of the unorganised sector workers, specifically the construction sector workers and the needy workers. He was the state president of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).
A prolific writer, Madhava had written several books on communal forces and agenda and fascism. He had translated several books from English to Kannada.
